Let's Connect Through Hands- Clay for child and caregiver

This event is for families of all shapes and sizes to join in together on a creative exploration in nature with clay. Izabela’s Garden is a place in Waterloo that has a unique quality of a land that has been allowed to grow plants it wants to with a gentle stewardship from Martin and Izabela in the last 15 years. Children can explore local plants, fruit and vegetable gardens and see a collection of miniature bonsai trees.

Izabela will guide participants in how to ask a plant for permission to collect a leaf to press into clay and how to hear the answer from the plant. Clay and a wide variety of tools are available for exploring in making a project together. Make it together or ask Izabela for tips and guidance.

Find a creative bond with your children in a supportive and nurturing setting so you can align towards more creativity together in other areas of your life. Open up to the vulnerability of creating with a child like innocence, learn from the children and learn how to nurture their sensitivity and curiosity.

Each family will receive 1lbs of clay and tools to create whatever they wish in clay. The creations will be fired and glazed by Izabela at a later date and available to pick up when finished.
